Slime ranchers should also note that giant eggs will only produce yolky plorts when they are fresh and the yolk inside is still glowing. Yolky slimes can only inspire the production of giant eggs when nearby chickens are able to reproduce - they're not miracle workers - so if hens and roostros are too crowded, giant eggs will be a rare occurrence indeed.

Such is the power of this glowing affection that it sometimes inspires nearby hens to produce a rare delight: a giant egg full of chicks and yolky plorts. But unlike tabby slimes, their intent is not to hunt, for within their warm, golden center lies an enduring love for chickens. Yolky slimes are a strange and elusive type of slime sometimes found near wild chickens on Rainbow Island. These slimes have no diet or favorite foods, and are best kept inside a Coop by a rancher. Eggs take 3 in-game hours/3 real minutes to spoil. All giant eggs caused by the Yolky Slime will produce five Chickadoos, the variety depending on which Hen Hen laid it, regardless of if it is fresh, or old. If a pen is overcrowded the eggs will be a harder thing to come by, and plorts are only available from them when they are still "fresh" and the Yolk inside is glowing. The affection of a Yolky Slime sometimes causes nearby Hen Hens to create a giant egg filled with Yolky plorts. The Yolky slime does not hunt chickens like the Tabby Slime does, but rather has a seemingly symbiotic relationship with them.

Chickens do not have to be near for the Yolky slime to spawn at a nest. They can spawn anywhere throughout The Rainbow Island, with the exception of The Conservatory. The Yolky Slime is an ultra-rare slime that can only be found near chicken nests.
